Community Unity

Community Unity is a project that's utilised creative media to document and discover more about the relationship between Shropshire's Royal Air Force bases and their surrounding civilian community.

Running throughout 2016 the project involved a small team of young creatives supporting and mentoring a group of younger children to make their creative response to the above brief. Alongside of this the young creative facilitators got the opportunity to gain an accredited qualification, go to a major cultural event in London, and film and organise a community event

Community Unity - a short film

A short film made by young people from RAF Cosford, RAF Shawbury and their local communities. As part of an Armed Forces Covenant project entitled Community Unity young people aged 8 -18 worked with MediaActive and Airplay Staff to document the relationship between Shropshire RAF Bases and their local towns as well as exploring what it is like to be or be friends with an RAF dependent.

A short animated history of RAF Cosford

A short animation made by a group of young people from RAF Cosford and it's local community. Young people aged 8-18 created this animation with the guidance of MediaActive and Airplay staff as part of an Armed Forces Community Covenant funded project entitled Community Unity.
