Champions of Flight has been supported by a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, Champions of Flight will be working with young people aged 11 to 25 as researchers and creative interpreters, using digital storytelling to explore and share stories about the role of flight and the air services in the First World War, Working with heritage specialists, creative practitioners, and with archives and museums resources, this project will be uncovering the hidden stories of the champions of flight, from WW1 trainee pilot to post war Flying Circus showman. Using an array of digital tools, platforms and techniques, including film and animation, the project aims to create high quality, accessible and engaging content that can be distributed online and displayed in exhibition spaces. The project will culminate in an exhibition at Theatre Severn, opening on 11th Nov 2017. |
